Why does the express train matter?
Line 9 runs both express (급행) and local (일반) trains. Sinnonhyeon is an express stop, but Eonju is not: express trains run straight through to Seonjeongneung. If you arrive at Sinnonhyeon on an express, stay on the platform and wait for the next local train toward VHS Medical Center, or simply walk.
This is handy if you are coming from the west of Seoul on Line 9, including from Gimpo Airport, because the express gets you to Sinnonhyeon quickly and the last leg is one local stop or a short walk.

If you arrive on the Shinbundang Line
- At Sinnonhyeon, follow the signs for Line 9(9호선, gold).
- Go to the platform for trains toward VHS Medical Center(중앙보훈병원 방면).
- Board a local train and ride one stop to Eonju(언주).
- Leave by Exit 3. The COWAY Building is right in front; the clinic is on the 3rd–4th floors.
If you arrive on Line 9 from the west
- If you are on a local train, stay on for one more stop to Eonju.
- If you are on an express, get off at Sinnonhyeon and change to a local train on the same line, or walk.

Coming from south of Gangnam on the Shinbundang Line?
The Shinbundang Line runs south from Gangnam Station through Yangjae toward Gwanggyo in Gyeonggi Province, so it is a direct route for people who live or work in the southern suburbs. Stay on the train through Gangnam Station for one more stop to Sinnonhyeon, then change to Line 9 for the final local stop to Eonju.
That means a single transfer, with no need to change at the busy Line 2 concourse at Gangnam. If you are planning several visits, for example a treatment that needs a fitting and a follow-up, it helps to note the platform layout at Sinnonhyeon on your first trip so later visits are quicker.
