How much do braces and aligners cost in Seoul?
Lucid lists four orthodontic options at different levels. Anterior alignment, which straightens front teeth only, is ₩1,290,000 per arch. Clippy-C, a self-ligating ceramic bracket system, is listed at ₩3,490,000. Lingual braces, which sit behind the teeth, are listed at ₩5,280,000, and Invisalign at ₩10,000,000. Retainers are ₩300,000.
Orthodontic treatment usually takes many months and needs regular check-ins, so it suits expats and long-stay visitors more than short trips. Your orthodontic plan, number of visits, and payment schedule are confirmed at consultation.
What do smaller treatments cost?
Many visitors add a small treatment to their trip. Gum contouring starts at ₩100,000, an inlay is ₩300,000, and tooth-colored resin fillings range from ₩60,000 to ₩150,000 depending on size. A custom night guard, which protects teeth and veneers from grinding, is ₩600,000.
Are these prices covered by Korean health insurance?
No. This list shows non-covered fees. Korea's National Health Insurance Service (NHIS) covers foreign residents who are enrolled, generally after six months of residence or through an employer. Covered dental items typically include annual scaling for adults 19 and over, basic fillings, extractions, root canal treatment, and gum treatment.
Veneers, whitening, Invisalign, and most orthodontics are typically not covered. If you live in Korea, see our guide to NHIS dental coverage for foreigners and confirm your own eligibility.
Is there a VAT refund on dental work for tourists?
Not for cosmetic procedures. Korea's VAT refund for foreign patients having cosmetic procedures ended on December 31, 2025. Cosmetic dental work such as veneers and whitening is VAT-taxable in Korea, so budget without a refund. Details are on our Korea tax refund 2026 page.
How do I pay, and what is not included?
Ask for an itemized written estimate before treatment starts. It should list each tooth, material, and fee. Flights, hotels, and any medications from a pharmacy are separate. For payment methods and receipts for insurance claims, see paying for dental treatment in Korea.
- Fees are per tooth or unit unless stated.
- Fees are reference prices; there are no discount or event prices.
- Final fees are confirmed after an exam and X-rays or a CT scan.

Frequently asked questions
Are Lucid Dental's prices the same for foreigners and Koreans?
The fee table on this page is the clinic's published non-covered fee list. Your own fee depends on your exam and the materials chosen, and is confirmed in writing before treatment.
Is the implant price per tooth?
Yes. The fixture, abutment, and crown are each priced per implant, so one full implant is about ₩1,190,000–1,490,000 before any grafting.
Why do USD prices on this page look rounded?
We convert at roughly ₩1,400 per US$ and round to the nearest US$10 for readability. Your bank's rate on the day you pay will differ slightly.
Does the veneer price include the consultation and temporaries?
Ask for this in your written estimate. Ask Lucid to itemize each tooth and step so you can see exactly what is included before you agree to treatment.
Can I get a quote before I travel to Korea?
Yes. Send clear photos and any recent X-rays on WhatsApp at +82-10-8354-2975 for an initial estimate. The final plan and fee are confirmed after an in-person exam.
Is scaling free with Korean health insurance?
Adults 19 and over enrolled in NHIS typically get one covered scaling per calendar year; a copay may apply, so confirm with NHIS. Tourists who are not enrolled pay the non-covered fee.
