The research gives a useful baseline. A 2019 systematic review by Howe and colleagues in the Journal of Dentistry estimated 10-year survival of modern implants at about 96.4%. Its more cautious sensitivity analysis gave 93.2%, and found that patients aged 65 or older had a noticeably higher risk of implant loss. In other words, implants usually last, but planning and patient factors matter.

Are Korean-made implants a lower grade?
No. A Korean origin is not a sign of a lesser implant. Osstem, based in Seoul, and MegaGen, based in Daegu, are established implant makers whose systems are used in many countries. Because they are produced domestically, they are widely stocked in Korean clinics, which helps keep parts available and costs reasonable.
