"State-of-the-art technology" appears on almost every clinic website, and it tells you very little. This page does something more useful: it names the specific implant systems, materials and appliances that appear on Lucid Dental's own treatment and fee list, explains what each one is in plain English, and shows the reference price. That way you can compare like with like when you look at other clinics at home or abroad.
Which dental implant systems does Lucid Dental use?
The clinic lists three implant fixtures from two Korean manufacturers: MegaGen AnyOne, Osstem BA and Osstem SOI.
Korea is a major producer of dental implants. Medical Korea, the government-backed medical tourism service run by the Korea Health Industry Development Institute, names Osstem among internationally recognized Korean implant makers. Using domestic systems also means parts and components are widely available in Korea.

What is a plasma-activated implant?
It is an implant whose surface is treated with plasma — an energized gas — shortly before placement, to clean the surface and make it more receptive to surrounding bone.
The idea is that a freshly treated titanium surface attracts fluid and bone-forming cells more readily. Research is promising but still early: much of it, such as a 2023 study in Bioengineering , is preclinical (animal) work. That means plasma activation should be seen as a possible refinement, not a shortcut. Healing still depends on your bone, health, smoking status and home care, and individual results vary.
What are One-Day Implants?
One-Day Implants aim to place the implant and fit a tooth on the same day, in cases where the bone is strong enough to hold the implant firmly at once.
Not everyone qualifies. Many patients still need a healing period of a few months before the final crown, which means two trips for overseas visitors. Your eligibility is decided after an exam.
What materials are used for veneers and crowns?
Veneers at Lucid are made from porcelain in the clinic's own LUCINATE line; implant crowns are listed in zirconia.

Which orthodontic systems are available?
The clinic offers conventional and discreet options, from tooth-colored self-ligating braces to hidden lingual braces and clear aligners.

What about comfort — sedation and scaling?
For anxious patients, conscious sedation is available after a medical check, and the clinic offers a quick scaling method designed to reduce discomfort.
Conscious sedation relaxes you while you stay awake and able to respond. It is not suitable for everyone, and you will need someone to accompany you afterward. See sedation dentistry in Seoul.
What imaging and scans will I need?
That depends on your treatment. Implant and complex cases usually need detailed X-ray imaging; a simple filling may need little or none.
Rather than list machines, we will tell you at your consultation which images are needed for your case and why, and you can request copies to take home. Medical Korea notes that Korean companies also produce intraoral scanners and implant-planning software, so digital workflows are widespread in Korean dentistry.
How should I compare technology between clinics?
Ask for names, not adjectives. A useful quote lists the exact implant system, abutment type, crown material and any grafting separately.
- Request an itemized estimate showing each component and its price.
- Check that implant crowns and abutments are included, not just the fixture.
- Ask which veneer material is used and how much tooth preparation is planned.
- Ask what records and component details you will receive to take home.
This makes it much easier to compare a quote from Seoul with one from your home dentist.

Are Korean implant brands reliable?
Osstem and MegaGen are established Korean manufacturers whose systems are used in many countries. As with any brand, long-term success depends on correct planning, placement and your own care. Ask your dentist why a particular system is recommended for you.
Can I choose which implant brand I get?
You can discuss preferences at your consultation. The dentist will explain which of the listed systems suits your bone and treatment plan, and the price difference between them.
Will I get the implant brand and lot details for my records?
Ask for the implant system name and component details in your records. This is useful if you ever need maintenance by a dentist in your home country.
Is zirconia better than porcelain?
They serve different purposes. Zirconia is very strong and often used for implant crowns, while porcelain veneers are prized for translucency on front teeth. Your dentist will match the material to the tooth and the load it carries.
Do plasma-activated implants heal faster?
Early research suggests plasma treatment may improve how bone attaches to the implant surface, but much of it comes from animal studies. Healing time still depends mainly on your bone and health.
Are Clippy-C braces the same as Invisalign?
No. Clippy-C uses tooth-colored brackets fixed to the teeth, while Invisalign uses removable clear aligners. They differ in visibility, cost and how much the patient must manage day to day.
