Which teeth do 6, 8, and 10 veneers cover?
Veneers are usually counted from the middle of the upper arch outward. Six covers the front teeth to the canines, eight adds the first premolars, and ten adds the second premolars.

How can I estimate my number at home?
A quick mirror check gives you a good starting point. It is not a diagnosis, but it helps you talk to your dentist.
- Stand in good daylight and smile as widely as you naturally do in photos.
- Count the upper teeth you can see on each side, starting from the middle.
- Note where the visible teeth end at the corners of your mouth.
- Check whether those back teeth differ in color or shape from the front ones.
- Take a wide smile photo and a side photo to send for a remote review.
If you see five teeth on each side, your widest smile shows ten upper teeth. If the teeth behind your canines already match the shade you want, fewer veneers may be enough.
Why might I need more than six veneers?
If your smile shows teeth behind the canines, those teeth can look darker or narrower next to brand-new veneers. That contrast is the main reason people choose eight or ten.

Is it better to treat fewer teeth?
