What is LUCINATE Orthodontics?
LUCINATE Orthodontics is Lucid Dental Clinic's veneer-based approach to making mildly uneven front teeth look straight. Instead of moving teeth with braces, thin porcelain LUCINATE veneers are designed so the visible front surfaces line up evenly.
Elsewhere this idea is often called "instant orthodontics" or "veneer orthodontics." The name can be misleading: the roots and the bite stay where they are. What changes is the shape, width and angle of the front surfaces people see when you smile. LUCINATE is Lucid's in-house porcelain laminate line, offered in three tiers: Classic, Premier and THE LUCINATE.
How is veneer alignment different from real orthodontics?
Orthodontics moves teeth through bone; veneer alignment reshapes how teeth look. That single difference affects time, tooth preparation, and what problems each can fix.

Who is a good candidate for veneer-based alignment?
Veneer alignment may suit adults whose front teeth are only mildly crowded, gapped or rotated and who also want to change tooth color or shape. It is not a substitute for orthodontics when teeth are significantly out of position or the bite is off.
- May suit: small gaps, slightly overlapping or rotated front teeth, uneven edges, worn or chipped teeth, and discoloration that whitening cannot fix.
- Usually not suitable: moderate or severe crowding, crossbites, deep bites, open bites, or teeth that would need heavy reduction to line up.
- Must be treated first: active decay, gum disease, or a grinding habit (a night guard may be recommended).

How much does LUCINATE Orthodontics cost?
Cost depends on how many teeth are treated and which LUCINATE tier you choose. Lucid Dental's published reference fees are per tooth:

What are the steps of LUCINATE Orthodontics?
The process follows a standard porcelain veneer workflow, with extra planning to decide how each tooth's surface should be shaped.

What are the risks and trade-offs?
The main trade-off is that veneer alignment usually removes some enamel, which cannot be put back. The American Dental Association notes that veneer treatment "is not reversible because tooth enamel is removed to place a veneer," and that veneers may chip, crack, wear or loosen over time.
- Teeth that are more out of line typically need more reduction, which is why case selection matters.
- Veneers will need maintenance and, eventually, replacement.
- Whitening does not change the color of porcelain, so shade is chosen with your natural teeth in mind.
- Temporary sensitivity after preparation is common and usually settles.
