How much do porcelain veneers cost in the USA?
According to the 2026 Synchrony Average Procedural Cost Study cited by CareCredit, a single standard porcelain veneer averages $1,455 in the US, with a typical range of $1,020 to $2,506. Porcelain laminate veneers average $1,781 ($1,243–$2,997), and a set of six to eight veneers averages $13,954.
Cleveland Clinic notes that veneers are cosmetic and are not covered by most dental insurance, so most Americans pay these fees themselves. Prices also vary a lot by city, the dentist's experience and the lab used.
How much do veneers cost in Korea at Lucid Dental?
Lucid Dental Clinic in Gangnam, Seoul lists its in-house LUCINATE porcelain veneers from ₩1,190,000 (Classic), ₩1,390,000 (Premier) and ₩1,990,000 (THE LUCINATE) per tooth. At roughly ₩1,400 per US$1, that is about $850, $990 and $1,420; check today's exchange rate.
These are reference "from" prices. Your final fee depends on the exam, how many teeth are treated, and whether other work such as gum contouring (from ₩100,000) is needed first. A consultation and exam are required, and individual results vary. The three tiers differ in design and materials; our LUCINATE veneers page explains each one.

Does going to Korea still save money after flights and hotels?
It can for multi-tooth cases, but rarely for one or two veneers. The savings grow with the number of teeth, while travel costs stay roughly fixed. The California Dental Association warns that savings from dental travel "may be illusory" once travel, time off and possible re-treatment are counted, so do the math honestly.
A simple way to test it:
- Get a written US quote for the exact number of veneers and material.
- Get a preliminary Seoul estimate by sending photos and X-rays through an online consultation. It is a starting point, not a final quote.
- Add travel costs: round-trip flight, hotel nights in Gangnam, meals, local transport and travel insurance.
- Add time costs: unpaid leave or vacation days for the stay.
- Add a follow-up reserve for a US dentist to check or repair veneers later if needed.
- Compare the totals. If the Seoul total is only slightly lower, staying home is often simpler.
Also note that Korea's VAT refund for foreign medical tourists ended on 31 December 2025. Cosmetic dental work such as veneers is VAT-taxable in Korea, so ask whether VAT is included in any quote. See our 2026 tax refund explainer.
How long do I need to stay in Seoul for veneers?
That depends on the veneer type and your mouth. Cleveland Clinic describes the usual lab process as at least two visits, with the lab taking a few weeks in a typical setting. Lucid Dental also offers One-Day LUCINATE for suitable cases, which can shorten the stay, but suitability is decided after an exam. Read about one-day veneers in Seoul and plan buffer days in case adjustments are needed.
What should Americans compare besides price?
- Tooth preparation: ask how much enamel will be removed. Cleveland Clinic notes most veneers are permanent because some enamel is usually removed.
- Number of teeth: the right number depends on your smile line, not a package. Our guide on how many veneers you need explains why.
- Lifespan and upkeep: Cleveland Clinic cites a lifespan of about 10 to 15 years with proper care, so plan for future maintenance near home.
- Aftercare access: check how you will reach the clinic after you leave and what records you will receive in English.
- Who treats you: at Lucid Dental, veneer cases are led by Dr. Park Hyun-min, a certified prosthodontist who completed a non-prep veneer course with the Oral Design Non-Prep Veneer Academy.
Are veneers the right treatment in the first place?
Not always, and that question matters more than price. Veneers change the front surface of the tooth, so they suit people who want to change shape, size or color in ways whitening alone cannot. If your teeth are healthy but slightly yellow, whitening may be enough. If they are crowded, straightening may preserve more natural tooth. If only one edge is chipped, composite bonding can be a smaller step.
At a consultation, the dentist looks at your bite, gums, existing fillings and any grinding habit before recommending veneers. Heavy grinding, active gum disease or untreated decay usually need attention first, and a night guard may be advised afterward to protect porcelain. Our dental veneers in Seoul page explains how candidates are assessed. A plan that treats fewer teeth, or none, is a valid outcome of a consultation.

Frequently asked questions
Why are veneers less expensive in Korea than in the US?
Fees reflect local costs such as rent, staff wages, lab fees and insurance, which differ between countries. A lower fee does not by itself say anything about quality, so compare the dentist's training, materials and aftercare as well as price.
Will my US dental insurance pay for veneers done in Korea?
Usually not, because most plans treat veneers as cosmetic. Some plans cover out-of-network care abroad for other treatments, so check your policy and ask for itemized English receipts.
What happens if a veneer chips after I get home?
A local dentist can often polish or repair small chips with composite resin, while a broken veneer may need replacement. Keep your English treatment records and contact the clinic so both dentists can coordinate.
Are LUCINATE veneers the same as regular porcelain veneers?
LUCINATE is Lucid Dental's in-house line of porcelain laminate veneers, offered in Classic, Premier and THE LUCINATE tiers. They are porcelain veneers designed and planned at the clinic; the right tier depends on your goals and exam.
Can I pay in US dollars?
Fees are quoted in Korean won. Ask the clinic about accepted payment methods before your visit, and check your card's foreign transaction fees.
Is composite bonding a lower-cost alternative?
For small chips or gaps it may be. Composite is usually less expensive but may stain or wear sooner than porcelain. A dentist can tell you whether bonding or veneers suit your teeth.
